My husband and I are going to an event this weekend called Minnesota’s Red Dress Collection. The event is at the fabulous Loews Hotel located downtown. The event is sponsored by St. Jude Medical Center to benefit The American Heart Association’s Go Red for Woman Program. This year is their 5th annual event. The gowns that the models wear are red and made by local designers. Proceeds from the ticket sales, the live auction, and other donations will all go to the American Heart Association. Tickets are still available online and it’s a great way to do something fun for Valentine’s Day if you don’t already have plans. The event is black tie so you also get an excuse to dress up.

Going to a black tie event can be a little intimidating at first because finding a dress when you need one can be hard. I starred the ones above that if you order today you can still get in time for the event Saturday or for Valentine’s Day on Sunday. Getting an amazing LBD (little black dress) is great for last minute events that you may get invited to. The nice thing about a black dress is that in the winter wearing black tights with it still looks cute. I really like the combo of a red dress and black tights as well. Going without tights in February in cold weather is really not an option unless you wear a long dress.

This dress here has an amazing price point if you’re looking for a great red dress which is perfect for Valentine’s Day. You can pay a little extra for fast shipping and it’s still a good price. I must admit it kills me to pay for shipping, but just pretend the dress is under $200.

Do you have any plans for Valentine’s Day? I love taking the time to celebrate my husband and our little girls. It’s something my family has always done growing up. We take Valentine’s Day to celebrate family, friends and our spouse. I told Dahlia she could ask her Dad for something special for a gift. She told me she wanted a Dora backpack. I asked her if she was sure she didn’t want a monogrammed one from Pottery Barn Kids like this one. She said no Dora. Why can’t kids ever like the cute stuff? Now I have to find one on Amazon today that she can get by Sunday.
