Every year I try to do a full recap on RStheCon and I add in some helpful tips for people going the next year or to other blogging conferences.  This is my third time going and every year it changes and gets a little more fun for me. I was very intimidated the first time I went.  I did not know ANYONE at the conference.  I remember reaching out to a few girls ahead of time trying to make some friends before I left for Dallas.  That year, I stayed at a friends place down the street from the conference. I thought it was be nice to have a place to go back to at night and feel at home. As much as I enjoyed getting to see my friends, I would not recommend that.  Having a place to drop stuff all day is really nice and I sometimes needed a break from all the action. If possible, find a roommate because you get to know someone so much better and it’s fun!

Going to a conference like this one, centered around bloggers, or if you’re considering one in your own industry can be so much fun! Over the years I have learned so much from the Reward Style team.  For me, it changed the way I blogged and gave me so many opportunities I would never have gotten.  My first conference was four years ago and then I missed last year since Penelope was just getting out of the hospital. The first time around was the perfect spring board to fashion week. I got to meet with the Kate Spade team there which led to me securing tickets to their fashion show at fashion week each year. I’ve learned a ton each year, but that first year I felt like I couldn’t take notes fast enough.

Another reason why I love going to RStheCon is because I have made some amazing friends that are bloggers and that work at Reward Style.  It is about the only time of year that we all get together.  The people that go to this conference are an extremely nice and welcoming group.  I really enjoy getting to know as many of them as I can. This year they changed the format a little so I was able to get to know some of the representatives from the brands I enjoy working with as well. Getting to know them more than just a quick fifteen minute meeting was really great.

If you’re on the edge about going to this conference or a similar one, I would highly recommend it. It’s a great way to meet others in your industry and network with the brands that attend.
