This past weekend was so much fun. We went to the Vikings/Packers game which was a BLAST. It was such an intense game and so fun that the Vikings won. We got home super late and I could not get myself out of bed to do a post on Monday. More importantly, Penelope was dedicated on Sunday at church. It was such a special day. So many of our friends and family were able to make it to church to be a part of the service. If you’ve followed Penelope’s story this year, you can probably understand why it was so special to us. For those of you that haven’t, Penelope spent five and a half weeks in a children’s hospital near our home. For three of those weeks she was in an intensive care unit and two of those weeks she was on a breathing tube. We are so lucky that she is alive and have learned so much from her through that experience.
My husband and I picked a life verse for her as a part of her dedication. It was so intimidating to do because a life verse seems like such a big deal. I think we found the perfect one: Pslam 28:7 “The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him.” My husband shared some amazing words about our sweet little girl and got to thank a few of the people that helped us so much during the hardest phase of our lives. It was such a special day.
Thank you all for providing your support through this year. I can’t tell you how much I’ve appreciated every prayer, every comment, every encouraging note I’ve received from all of you. Sunday was such a celebration and reminder of God’s amazing love for my sweet Penelope. I pray one day that she will come to have a personal relationship with her Lord and Savior.
