I wanted to share the basics on an arm party. Where to start? How to get the bracelets in the right order? What colors to mix? I will include pictures of my own bracelets and some colleagues’ photos to give examples.
The base to get the party started… You have to decide if you like things to make noise to or if you want them to be silent and how far up your arm you want the bracelets to move. So a great place to start is either with this bracelet here or a leather bracelet. Both pictured below. You also should decide if you want to mix metals or go with all the same color. Before you go online and buy one; check to see if you have something you own, even if you don’t love it anymore to complement what you’re about to purchase. That way you’re not dropping $200 to get the show on the road.
Next we move on to color. Think about the clothes you own or what you plan to wear these with to decide what color to start. If you’re looking to add a pop to your outfit, then a bright color is best. This time of year I wear a lot of flannel or patterned clothes. So sometimes I wish I had gotten a white and a black one of these to start off with because you can wear them with so much. In the summer when I wear more whites or solid colors, I love this teal one that I own to add a pop to the look. Make sure to consider what necklaces you own when purchasing them. You can always pull a color from your favorite necklace to complete the look.
Next goes to the number of bracelets. I generally like to keep it to three or less. I normally put three on my left arm and then one on my right. I got what I would consider an expensive bracelet for my birthday and wear it alone on my right hand and wear a larger number on my left. When I got the bracelet, I went for one that was silver and gold with a pearl. That way I could wear it a lot but it was still something I enjoy. I really like the black as well and I’m looking for any excuse to get another one.
I personally do not like when my bracelets make noise. For some reason it’s hard for me to take myself seriously when they do. So I normally put this bracelet or this one in the middle to break up the clinking. I really like this one as well but it can be hard to wear when you’re holding a kid. It looks like it would be a little painful in your back! I hope you all have a great weekend and e-mail me if you have any questions!
